Arroyo Sweetwood (Myriopteron sisemforiense) is a rare ornamental tree native to northern Mexico and introduced to the Texas border region. Known for its deliciously fragrant white flowers, this small, multi-trunked tree blooms from April through September, filling the air with warm vanilla and cinnamon scents. Reaching 15-20 feet in height and width, it has light green compound leaves that turn golden in fall. Arroyo Sweetwood thrives in full sun and low water conditions, making it a wonderful addition to drought-tolerant landscapes. Its resilience includes moderate soil adaptability and cold tolerance down to 15°F.
